Frequently Asked Questions

How often should my filters be changed?

Andersen recommends checking your filters monthly. If you can hold them up to a light and see the light clearly, you can keep using that filter. If the light is diluted, it’s time to change filters. Checking and replacing your filters are one of the simple and inexpensive things you can do to keep your system running efficiently.

What type of filters should I buy?

The disposable filters work just fine and allow air to move freely through your system. Tired of buying filters? Contact our service department and ask about Andersen-exclusive permanent filters for your home!

Why should I have a Maintenance Agreement?
Can’t I just call when something goes wrong?

Having your system inspected on a regular basis is recommended by all major manufacturers. Your heating and cooling system is a mechanical system that is a large investment. It’s better to maintain the system and replace failing parts throughout the year. Maintenance Agreement customers receive an additional 15% off of repairs.

How can I make my system more efficient?

  • Programmable thermostats can help make your system more efficient.
  • Andersen offers a wide range of programmable thermostats that will help increase the efficiency of your system.
  • Clean or replace filters monthly. Make sure registers are not blocked by furniture, area rugs or drapes.
  • During the winter, open blinds and curtains to help warm your home.
  • In summer, keep blinds and drapes closed to keep out heat.
